with the SB160 has come the new generation of translational pivot suspension design, setting new expectations for kinematics, durability, sensitivity and strength. The frame has been refined, packing the Infinity Switch and shock absorber link more efficiently. The stiffness of the swingarm has increased, along with the ground clearance of the frame. Yeti has refined the carbon layers to offer torsional rigidity and consistent flexible profiles in all sizes. Internally routed cable tubes with secure closures at entry and exit points eliminate rattle and cable rubbing. The bottom bracket is now threaded aluminum with integrated ISCG-05 adapter, it is now more durable, cleaner and easier to maintain. The Yeti mounts the UDH universal gear toecap, being able to find it in any bike shop in case of breakage. The SB160's patented two-piece wishbone ensures optimal grip, damper compatibility and ease of shock absorber removal for longer travel applications. The clock proves that the most progressive curves are not faster. The kinematics of the SB160 have been refined for additional travel with greater control of the stop while maintaining a relatively linear progression curve. Why a linear curve? Riders experience more predictable damping characteristics along the course. Predictability in a competitive environment can make the difference between entering or winning. MORE BALANCED AT HIGH SPEED. The longer Reach provides greater grip and maintains a centered position. The more vertical saddle angle gives agility when lowering the saddle in curves and slopes. The high-impact resistance carbon layers have been tuned to DH standards.
