The design premise for the ARD44 was simple, a wheelset designed for serious riders who want maximum speed on flats, climbs and corners, an aerodynamic wheel that shines on a wide range of terrain, from smooth pavement to rough gravel roads.
The ARD44's FusionFiber® rim produces a stable, responsive, and agile ride while reducing body fatigue and rider strain. Fusion Fiber® produces superior cushioning attributes because it is not bonded with epoxy resin. Instead, it uses nylon, giving it optimal strength, even at higher compliance levels, so the wheels maintain traction better and ride smoother than any other carbon road wheel you've ridden before.
Unlike traditional carbon fiber, FusionFiber® is recyclable. It can be chipped, heated, and reused to make other products. It also requires much less time and energy to form complex shapes, such as bicycle tires, and the process generates much less waste. All good things.
The ARD44 wheelset is aerodynamically designed for tires from 28mm to 30mm, and its internal width of 25mm and external width of 30.5mm accommodate a wide range of tire sizes, usually up to 50mm. The tubeless and hookless rim design simplifies installation and maintenance while optimizing the interface between the tire and the rim base.
