The SMD2 is the first Ergon saddle that is hardly used for sitting, but is basic to control the bicycle. To design it, professional downhill runners maximized the requirements of the saddle during an intense period of development. The surface design follows the sloping orientation of the saddle and offers the rider complete freedom of movement. The riding of the bike with the inner leg has been improved with the circumferential padding of the outer edges. Other important features are the sturdy shock-resistant rails and an extra-wide rear. In short, it is a saddle that fits very low and with the tip slightly upwards, thus facilitating the descent position and allowing greater freedom of movement and control both on technical terrain and when jumping.
